Palm Beach County Opportunity Zones

Of the 11,431 multifamily parcels in Palm Beach County, 2,272 or 19.88% are in Opportunity Zones.

Are you familiar with Opportunity Zones? Two main benefits offered from the program as of this writing:

1. Deferral of gain. An investor can defer gains on qualifying real estate investments until December 31, 2026. Essentially, this is an interest-free loan until 2026 taxes are paid.
2. Tax-exempt growth: This is the big one. After a 10 year holding period, there will be no federal income taxes on the investor’s proceeds. This boosts the potential return on Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds (QoZ funds) significantly. Source: The Tax Adviser.com

Of course, always consult with a tax advisor if contemplating a QoZ investment. If you need to locate investment property for a QoZ fund, give us a call.
